How it’s going after re-opening 27th July . . .
All our members have worked out as often as they wanted!
We promised our members a guaranteed slot once a week with extra slots booked in each week as were available. At the beginning a few people were worried that they wouldn’t get 3 workouts in or be able to workout at a time that was convenient to them. In fact, we’ve been able to give all our members who wanted it 3 workouts a week… And mostly at the times they asked for.

Having Booked Workouts has proved to be an advantage!
Remember when you started at Ladies First Fitness? You had several workouts booked with a coach (usually 5). You didn’t miss any of those workouts- because they were booked and you didn’t want to let anyone down or take up a slot that someone else could have had!
Well, having every workout as a booked slot is working in the same way. Members are not missing their workouts! Having each workout booked is acting like extra motivation in the same way as a written down plan or any other appointment in your diary. If a member is unable to make a workout they phone and let us know, so we can give the slot to someone else.
Spontaneity is great and sounds very flexible, but, in fact, can mean that you prioritise other things all day and end up not doing your workout!
Booking Workout Slots is easy and doesn’t mean you have to keep phoning!
Each of our members have one guaranteed slot that continues from week to week. When they come in for that workout they book the rest of their slots for that week and the week after, if necessary. So, practically it’s working really well.
Isolated Workouts
Members who needed to do an isolated workout (either because they are vulnerable, or they have a vulnerable person at home) have been able to do so. So far, we haven’t had to turn anyone away or disappoint them.
Physical Distancing and Hygiene Measures
These have worked out really well. Staggered entrance and exit times have given members plenty space to change and stretch. We have added stretch charts at the other end of the circuit and downstairs so if the regular stretch area gets a bit congested members can spread out a bit round the club to stretch.
Increased Capacity
We started off with a physical distance of 3 stations between members which was a distance of more than 2m and allowed a maximum of 6 members on the circuit at any one time.
We got the tape measure out and noted that 2 stations between members was actually still 2m. From end Aug, therefore, we’ve increased our capacity to 8 members on the circuit. This has increased the throughput so we can accommodate 3 workouts a week for everyone, even with more members returning.
Weigh and Measure (Setting Goals) is NOW Back!
If you’re happy to get a bit closer than 2m to one of our lovely coaches (they will be wearing a face shield and you can wear a face mask if you want to), then you can have a Weigh and Measure appointment and get re-acquainted with your goals – or set new ones! As usual you will get a star and a report and entered into the 2-monthly competition for Top Stars! Just ask a coach and they will book you in 15 min before your workout time.
New Members
We have welcomed 11 new members since we re-opened. We perform the initial Fitness Consultation when the club is either closed or quiet. The induction workouts are also booked with a coach when the circuit is not too busy. This has worked perfectly for our new members and they are incorporated into the life of the club without any stress to them or our existing members. Aerobics and Body Weight Exercises Live on Facebook and on Youtube
For those who still need to exercise at home or want additional exercise we are continuing to provide videos every day Mon – Fri with body weight exercises and aerobics.
“Aerobics+” is LIVE on Facebook every Mon, Wed and Fri at approx 12:20.
If you happen to have a workout at 11:30 and there are not too many in the club at 12:20, you can have a slightly longer workout and then participate live with the aerobics in the club – but don’t worry you won’t be in the video!
“Aerobics+” is aerobics for 30 mins but also interspersed with 4 lots of body weight exercises for legs, arms/chest, abs and obliques. All moves are standing or using a chair – so no need to get down on the floor!
Watch Party with Body Weight Exercises and Aerobics on Facebook Tuesday & Thursday at 11am
Body Weight Exercises (10min) + Aerobics (30min) is posted as a Watch Party on Tuesday and Thursday at 11am. There is usually a focused body area for the watch party, e.g. Abs/Waist or Legs/Glutes, etc.
