Melody – Gets fit for Sailing around the World!

Melody lives in the Midlands and is living locally here in Gosport to set up for the Clipper Race all around the world in September, even although Melody is in her 60’s! She joined Ladies First Fitness to get fit for sailing. When asked how she liked the workout and her experience here, she said it was wonderful! “I really like the atmosphere. To be honest, you know, I wouldn’t normally join a ladies-only gym, but I liked the fact that you’ve got the machines and it’s about strength training. When I got here, it’s just magic, it’s almost like dancing, it’s a lot of fun and I really enjoy it”, says Melody. She’s just done her 1st review and did really well – lost 11.25ins and 1.8lbs, and that’s with doing just 2 workouts a week! -“I’ve got my star!” We love having Melody and we’re going to hang on to her until absolutely we have to let her go on her Round the World Tour and wishing her lots of luck with that! “Good Luck and Bon Voyage, Melody!” Xx

Lizzie – Great Results and No. 4 Top Star!

We just did Lizzie’s 1st review. Lizzie started doing 5 circuits instead of 2, for a challenge, and she liked it so much, she kept doing it. We were all excited to see what difference it would make to her results! “I lost 10.5 ins, just under 3 lbs and 0.9% body fat! I can’t believe that-I just wasn’t expecting that in the 1st month! I feel really good now- I used to exercise years ago but I had to abandon the gym when my husband became so disabled. Now I can get back… and I love this gym! When you come in it’s so friendly! Nobody looks at you critically – some gyms you feel like you’re on a catwalk! I love the way that all the equipment is arranged in a circle, so, if you catch someone’s eye opposite, you just exchange a smile. I used to feel a bit stiff after sitting for a while- now I just get up and walk off! I used to get twinges in my knees and ankle but no pain at all now! It’s all very positive!” Lizzie was No. 4 Top Star for May/June, so, great work Lizzie! 

Clare – Top Star again … and again!

This video was after the 2nd time on Top Stars. Clare was No 1, No 2, then No 1 again! Clare has dropped 2 dress sizes now and has noticed she is much less tired and can do more and walk farther, which makes a huge difference. She recently had an interaction with someone in the car park. “I came off the bus with lots of suitcases and was stopped by a lady who offered to help. But I said, ‘no,no I’m on a roll, I’ve just come for the gym and I’m going for it.’ The lady was so impressed that she came in to find out more about us – “she hasn’t joined yet, but she’s going to!” Clare is still loving it – she comes in 3 times a week and continues to lose weight. Clare has a target to hit for a wedding in a years time! We are so proud of Clare! Well done, girl! 

Karen – Top Star & 100 Workouts!

Karen was on our Top Stars and also hits 100 workouts milestone! When asked about the results she’s noticed from working out regularly at LFF, Karen said, “my muscles are stronger, I’m more flexible, I’ve lost inches and…I’m feeling great cos I know I’m doing good for my body!” About LFF, Karen’s comments were: “ I love that it is a different sort of gym that makes it easier to use the equipment. I like that it is ladies only and very friendly. The fact that it is a quick routine is also good because I can do more when I feel able to. The staff are all great -very supportive and helpful“. Well done Karen!

Maureen – 300 Workouts!

Would you like to see increased energy and flexibility? Maureen has just celebrated her 300 Workouts Milestone and that’s what she commented that she noticed from doing the LFF workout regularly. She said, “it only takes 30 mins, it’s an easy to follow workout and very friendly and supportive coaches. It’s very easy to get the hang of the equipment too”. Go for more, Maureen!

Annie – 1000 Club!

Annie is in it for the long haul – she has been a member for 13 and half years! Celebrating 1100 workouts! Annie’s got guns AND staying power!  

Penny – 2000 Club – 2600 Workouts!

Penny is such a star and keeps working out through thick and thin – she’s now a “Mega Legend” after achieving 2600 workouts at LFF. Penny has quite a lot to say about the positive benefits of this workout!

“It has improved and maintained my flexibility, balance, stamina, and overall energy levels. It keeps my weight under control and has given me increased muscle mass and bone strength. Working out regularly gives me a positive mental attitude and a great ‘buzz’ after each workout!”

“I really appreciate the intimate, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere here at LFF. It’s a varied workout for the whole body – and mind! There’s always attentive and encouraging staff. The coaches keep a keen eye on the ‘veterans’ as well as the new members – there is always room for improvement! I joined LFF (or Curves as it was then) in 2007 a few weeks after it opened, and I have just passed the 2600 workouts milestone, so I suppose you could say it has become something of a habit!! Over the last 16 years, apart from short holiday breaks, I have only taken 2 longer breaks – and one of those was enforced due to the Covid lockdown.”

“The other was to recover from bowel surgery followed by chemotherapy in 2017. I reached another milestone last year – I received news that my 5-year cancer check-ups were clear! I’m sure Fran will forgive me for saying that this milestone means a little more to me! (Definitely forgiven, Penny) Regular workouts prior to my diagnosis certainly helped me cope with the surgery and treatment, and I was back on the circuit as good as new after 5 months!”. Mega celebrations all around, Penny! We’re so proud of you and so glad to have you as a long-standing member!
