Why a 30 Minute Workout?
30 minutes is the amount of time needed to incorporate 20 minute cardiovascular training in your workout and also include warming up, cooling down and stretching. Strength training is done at the same time as cardio training on this workout so you can get it all done in 30 minutes and get really good results! Who wants to spend hours at the gym when you don’t need to?!
Can I work out every day?
This is one of the frequently asked questions: The answer is yes! Maybe your thinking is it safe? We coach you how to get the right balance between maximum overload of muscles and 80% overload on alternate days so that overall in the week your muscles have plenty recovery time to repair. Having this workout as a daily habit is a great routine but it’s not necessary to workout every day to get great results.
Are you Open at Weekends
Another of the most frequently asked questions is are we open weekends. The answer is no! Because the workout is only 30 minutes, most of our members can fit their 3-5 workouts in during Monday-Friday between or after work and family commitments. We currently don’t have coaches that can work at the weekend so we are closed Saturday and Sunday.
Do you do a diet and nutrition course?
The answer to this frequently asked questions is: Yes, we are currently hosting a 6 week evening course and we also do 1-1 diet coaching.
Is the workout suitable for those who are very overweight or have a health condition?
Yes! Our strength training machines use hydraulic resistance which means you start at your own strength and pace and progress as your muscles get stronger.
Strength training increases muscle strength and increases bone density without straining the joints or muscles so is ideal for those with osteoporosis or osteopenia. This workout achieves cardiovascular training through muscle work so does not require a high aerobic capacity but does help to increase heart and lung function without putting too much pressure on either. The workout is therefore very good for those with asthma or COPD and also any heart conditions.
With hydraulic resistance you can’t over-exert and this workout is as safe as exercising in water. You only perform strength training for 30 seconds at a time which means the muscles are not exhausted which helps to protect the joints and is therefore suitable for those with arthritis or joint replacements.
Is there an Upper Age Limit?
Provided you can do the workout there is no limit. Our oldest member is currently 87 – and a very fit and active lady!
Why don’t you display your prices on the Website?
This gym and the workout are very different from traditional gyms and our policy is to explain the workout and the service and ongoing support we provide , demonstrate a couple of machines and explain how you achieve your goals before we explain the programs and current offer.
Our membership options are competitive, and our service is more than that offered in most traditional gyms. However, until we’ve had a chance to explain what is included in our memberships, we prefer that direct comparisons cannot be made to other gyms as they would be inaccurate.
Most people would accept that cost is not the only factor in the most suitable product for your needs and we like to have the chance to explain the product thoroughly during your free tour and fitness consultation before presenting the prices.
How long is your Contract?
We have several programs, but our normal contract is just a minimum of 4 months. You can also pay from one month to the next without a contract, or purchase sessions in advance 10 at a time.
Do you do 1-1 Coaching?
Yes we regularly work 1-1 with our members, to improve their workout technique and pace and also to work on progress and goals
What Results can I expect?
You can expect at least 5-6 inches toning all over in the first month and between 0.5 and 1% body fat reduction. Provided you eat a healthy diet and, depending on whether you are dieting or not, you can expect to lose 1-2 lbs ongoing each month, more if you’re deliberately dieting. The inches and body fat would normally keep reducing each month with a regular workout routine and a healthy lifestyle.
Can Teenagers Join?
Yes! We offer a special deal for teenagers (under 18) to come in and workout with their Mum and also we can offer independent membership to under-18s provided they have a consenting adult who will countersign the paperwork.
Is it Easy to Understand?
Yes definitely! The machines are static with no complicated adjustments to make so you do the same action each time you use it and tactile memory will easily learn it and remember what to do.
Also, your induction includes 1-1 coaching with a coach until you are confident with all the machines (normally takes about 5 workouts). So, whatever you forget the first few times, your coach is right there to remind you and help you get the most out of each workout.
We always have a professional coach on the circuit, so even if you forget things weeks later or slip into bad habits later on, a friendly coach is right there to keep you right.
